Project 180

Project 180 is a robust set of re-entry services for youth and adults who have been released from prison.

We know how challenging it can be for folks re-entering their communities from prison. We’ve always provided services to past Insight to Wellbeing program participants when they’ve been released from prison. Over the last year we’ve formalized our offerings and services to better support our program participants and other youth and adults leaving prison. Programs offered under our Project 180 umbrella include:

1) Peer Mentorship

Our peer mentorship program matches adults and youth being released from prison with a mentor who has also experienced incarceration at some point in their life. Peer mentors support mentees with their overall well-being, supporting them in times of crisis, and by guiding them to key resources and services. We begin the peer mentorship matching process 6 months before a person is released from prison to help guide them through their transition.

2) Case Management & Ongoing Support

We provide case management, including referrals and general advocacy for participants who have gone through our 10-week Insight to Wellbeing program.

3) Insight to Wellbeing & Drop in Groups

We offer our signature Insight to Wellbeing 10-week program in the community. You can learn more here or by checking out our events calendar. We also offer drop-in groups on Tuesday nights for Insight to Wellbeing alumni who want to check in with one of our trained teachers.

4) Classes & Events

We offer a diverse set of skills-building classes for anyone who has been impacted by the criminal justice system. Due to COVID, classes are all pre-recorded and can be viewed online. As it’s safe to do so, we’ll start offering in-person trainings and gatherings.

5) Clothing & Hygiene Closet

We are partnering with CrimAnon to offer a Clothing Closet to anyone in need of clothing. Download the flyer with address and hours here. We also offer Re-entry Care Packages to program participants which include basic hygiene items and customized resource lists.

6) Emergency Fund

In 2021, we launched a small emergency fund to support participants enrolled in our peer mentorship or Insight to Wellbeing programs during challenging times. All applicants must go through an application and interview process to access funds. We will not consider applications from folks not enrolled in one of these programs.
