Insights from Prison: Chris Fish

Posted by Anna Debenham, May 22, 2018

I have written about Chris Fish before (see Insights from prison – CF) . He is an amazing guy, an Iraq veteran and suffered badly from PTSD, flashbacks, night terrors, severe anxiety.  He was on a cocktail of drugs.. 18 pills all together which consisted of Prazosin, Thorazine and Klonopin. Today he is a free man, found a job he loves within a few days of leaving prison, loving life, drug free and most importantly has peace of mind. This is the letter I received from him a few days ago:

Anna,
First off I wanted to thank you for the time you sacrifice out of your day to come see the inmates at CRCI. I have taken many classes and seminars on how to fix my life and the issues I have. I spent a lot of money reading and studying different styles of making life better. I remember the day a friend of mine asked me to come to your class, I wasn’t sure about it but I decided to go.

I was very skeptical about listening to another class about new techniques on how to fix my screwed up life lol. As soon as the class started and we opened up with the daily meditation my mind started to change. (Really it was my thinking that started to change.) I felt a calming presence in the room and then my mind started to open up.

As soon as you said that it’s not the outside world that controls how we feel or think, it is inside of us, a light bulb exploded in my head. Everyone has an oh shit moment in life and that was one of mine. As the classes went on and the more I dove into the 3 Principles my mind started to clear and my thinking was becoming more and more understanding. I started to crave more knowledge about the 3 Principles. Every book I read and every class I attended my life was becoming new again. I was being reborn into the happy go lucky guy I thought was gone.

My life is open and exciting. I totally understand that it is all inside us and we experience life through our thinking. How I feel every day is coming from me and I know how we can be happy. Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful Principles. Thank you so much for your sacrifice. My life today is bright and exciting all because of the understanding of these wonderful Principles.

With much love and Respect,
Christopher Fish
