Supporter Spotlight: Rita Shuford

Posted by Lindsay Jensen, August 12, 2020

Each month, we are working to spotlight an Insight Alliance donor or supporter. We had the pleasure of connecting with our long-time supporter, Rita Shuford, this month. Rita is one of our first donors and monthly givers. We are so grateful for Rita’s ongoing support and encouraging words. Learn more about why she started giving to The Insight Alliance:

Why did you first give to our organization?

I have been a supporter since 2017-2018. I started donating when I realized I could do it monthly because I wholeheartedly believed that the work going on was and would help change people’s lives, families and communities. In addition, I had confidence in Anna’s passion, clarity and certainty that every human being is innately wise and healthy at the core of our inner being and could wake up to that truth in any moment, regardless of anyone’s past experiences. I knew the simplicity of the inside out, spiritual/psychological, understanding that Anna and her team was sharing could help bring about transforming, sustainable change. I could see the potential ripple effect of healing and transformation in families and communities. Donating was a no brainer.

Why is this organization important to you?

The mission and vision is in alignment with my own life work to help people from all walks of life and backgrounds to realize that we are all innately, unconditionally secure, wise and compassionate. It is our true nature to live in harmony, at ease within ourselves and with others in the daily living of our lives at home, at work and in our communities. In 2018, I got to meet graduates of the “Insight to Wellbeing” class and see the results of them realizing their innate health and wisdom and wanting to mentor others in prison and those being released into the community. The gratitude for what they had learned and the heartfelt, humble desire to keep learning and growing and to help others in prison and in the Community touched my heart. I just love the purity of the message of hope and the selfless way I see Anna and the Insight Alliance team sharing the simplicity of the 3 Principles Paradigm, the Truth, “we are what we seek”, we just got and get lost temporarily, but only in Thought, in the moment.
