Supporter Spotlight: Ron McVety

One of The Insight Alliance’s biggest champions is Ron McVety, owner of FACTS Engineering in Florida. I had the opportunity to chat with Ron a few weeks ago. During our call we talked about an array of topics including his life story and why he supports the work we are doing.
To preface this blog post, our connection with Ron McVety stems from the 3 Principles community. What are the 3 Principles? - Mind, Thought and Consciousness. First articulated by Sydney Banks, these universal principles have been taught throughout the world to relieve human suffering and cultivate human potential in the fields of community mental health, education, social services, corporate training, consulting, psychiatry, and drug and alcohol treatment systems. Our educational model at The Insight Alliance has roots in the 3 Principles. Ron McVety is engaged with research and consulting work in the field. Currently, Ron supports us by helping fund our research project in Oregon’s prisons.
One of the first stories Ron shared with me was about how his life changed after reading one of Michael Neill’s books (he is a 3 Principles practitioner). Ron was in the middle of an ugly divorce and on the plane to visit his daughter when he read through Michael’s book. He told me that when he got off the plane his daughter said to him, “Dad, you’ve changed.” And, it was true.
From that point forward, Ron sought out more information about the 3 Principles and realized that there was little research on the topic. Having run a successful business, Ron wanted to use his means to invest in growing the work of the 3 Principles community. He started funding various research projects related to the 3 Principles. A few of the projects he mentioned included a study about the impact of the 3 Principles on staff at the Mayo Clinic and research on The SPARK Initiative’s educational model in Florida.
Ron also shared with me that he brought in 3 Principles consultants to work with the staff at his personal business. He told me that his whole team had gone through an in-depth workshop/training and that all but one of them had experienced insights that changed their lives. Because of each person’s personal transformation, the culture of FACTS Engineering also shifted, becoming a more creative, welcoming, and supportive environment.
I asked Ron why he has done all that he has, including supporting our work. His response, “I believe that THIS [the 3 Principles] is the answer to all the world’s problems.” I could not agree with Ron more.
